SouthWoods Christian Church exists to assure you opportunities to know God, to become a fully devoted follower of Christ and to discover God's purpose for your life.
This portion of our mission statement emphasizes our commitment to extending the good news about Jesus and life as one of his followers to people who do not currently know God. According to the Scriptures: "To know Jesus is to know the Father" (cf. John 14:7-9). We want to do everything we can to assure that people within our sphere of influence have the opportunity to know and experience a personal relationship with Him.
Become a fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ
This portion of our mission statement emphasizes our commitment to growth and maturity in Christ. The Scriptures make it clear that every authentic believer needs to pursue a lifestyle of full obedience and Christlike character development. Therefore, we want to do everything we can to assure that the people of SouthWoods have the training and experiences necessary to equip them to be wholly devoted followers of Jesus.
Discover God's purpose for your life
This portion of our mission statement emphasizes our personal and corporate commitment to service and ministry. The Scriptures say, "For even the Son of Man (Jesus) did not come to be served, but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many" (Mark 10:45). Therefore, we want to assure the people of SouthWoods the privilege and opportunity to serve God and others with their God-given abilities and passions. God's purpose for each of our lives includes ministry, not just maturity.
